Project

Biodiversity Guardians

Resources, play and educational activities to discover the bats, swallows and beneficial insects that share our local landscape.

Biodiversity Guardians

Understanding them is the first step towards caring for them

A bat at dusk, a swallow beneath the eaves or a small insect in the vegetable garden reminds us that our surroundings are full of life. Biodiversity Guardians invites us to notice this local wildlife and understand what it needs to live alongside us.

The project builds on Guardianes Nocturnos and extends its educational work. It brings together information about shelters, downloadable materials and activities for families, schools and communities. Start with something to read, a video or Pip’s adventure, and explore at your own pace.

What we want to support

Safe shelters

Explain artificial wildlife shelters and the conditions bats and swallows need to use them without disturbance.

Natural balance

Understand insect-eating wildlife and its relationships with crops and local ecosystems.

Shared learning

Bring biodiversity closer to families and schools through clear materials, games and activities that encourage conversation and learning.

A connection with place

Recognise the wildlife within our landscapes and encourage a thoughtful relationship between people and their surroundings.

More room for wildlife

Build awareness of habitat conservation and the importance of the wider environment, rather than focusing on a single species.

Learning what to improve

Gather impressions and suggestions about the resources to understand their usefulness and inform the project’s next steps.

From the resource to the real setting
