There are many ways to start discovering the wildlife around us. We can follow an adventure, answer a question, look carefully at a shelter or share something we have read. Biodiversity Guardians 2026: Learn, Play and Protect brings these possibilities together in an educational project connecting curiosity with care for our surroundings.
The project page provides a single route to the activities and materials. It is intended for families, schools and anyone who wants to learn about bats, swallows and beneficial insects through clear information and resources they can return to.
An adventure with Pip and a certificate challenge
Pip’s web game offers an adventure in five chapters. You can explore its story in your browser, use its dedicated game page or open the activity separately through the direct link. The game is available in Spanish and Valencian.
The quiz is an independent activity with ten questions. At least seven correct answers unlock a downloadable certificate, personalised with the name entered at the start. It can follow the game or provide another starting point for a conversation about what you have learnt. The quiz is available in Spanish and Valencian; the certificate template remains in Spanish.
Resources to read, watch and use at school
The collection includes seven downloadable documents: a swallow infographic, the project leaflet, printable educational games, materials about habitat loss and the characteristics of bats in the Valencian Community, a student learning resource and an insect-hotel guide. Links on the translated page lead to the existing project documents, not newly translated English editions.
Two existing project videos show how to build an insect hotel and a bat shelter. They complement the written materials: images help explain the process, while the documents let you pause, revisit an explanation or prepare an activity together.
Sharing the work and learning what to improve
The project’s work covers the game, the quiz and certificate, educational materials, the project website and the awareness and outreach campaign. Evaluation is the sixth strand: gathering impressions and suggestions will help us understand which resources are useful and what could be improved.
Monitoring photographs also give visitors a closer view of the installations and materials. They do not replace an impact evaluation, but they provide real context for the resources. We invite you to explore the collection and consider how you might use it in your own setting.
Funding for the 2026 project
The project received a grant of €8,860.00 from the Vicepresidencia Tercera y Conselleria de Medio Ambiente, Infraestructuras, Territorio y de la Recuperación, reference MAPRAN/2026/5.
The award falls within the 2026 programme supporting activities and projects for animal protection and welfare, animal biodiversity conservation, environmental protection and habitat improvements within the Valencian Community. The project’s official Spanish title is Guardianes de la biodiversidad 2026: Aprende, juega y protege.
